Fall Protection Course NS 9610 applies to:
Norwegian authorities require employees who use fall protection equipment in their work to receive training in the correct use of such equipment (“Regulations concerning Organisation, Management and Employee Participation,” Chapter 8, Section 8-1, “General Training Requirements”).
The employer is responsible for ensuring that employees receive the necessary training. Our classroom-based Fall Protection Course complies with the NS 9610 standard. This ensures that you and your colleagues receive standardised training tailored to your everyday work.
Prerequisites:
No prior knowledge is required to complete the course or training.
Duration:
1 day.
Target audience:
The course is suitable for anyone who works at height and wants training that complies with the new fall protection standard. It is also well suited to managers responsible for employees who work at height.
Admission requirements:
No formal requirements. The course is conducted in English and the written theory test is also in English.

- Storage, maintenance and inspection
- Planning – risk assessment – Safe Job Analysis (SJA) – 1-2-3 SAFE
- Fall energy
- Selection of equipment and methods
- Applications and limitations
- Fall restraint or fall arrest
- Barriers
- Anchor points and anchoring devices
- Fall protection harnesses
- Self-retracting lifelines, lanyards and lifeline systems
- Work-positioning equipment
- Emergency preparedness, rescue plans and suspension trauma
- Theory test
Practical training (4 hours)
- Practical training is tailored to the relevant industry and company
The theory section also includes several practical exercises, as well as videos and illustrative images of relevant work activities.
